Penn Slammer IV Reels have hit shelves replacing their predecessor Slammer 3. The Penn Slammer IV features many of the technologies you have come to love on the Slammer III, like IPX waterproof Seal and CNC Gear technology. However, a few extra ball bearings are now included (now 8), plus a hydrophobic line roller bearing for improved performance and water resistance. Then there has been a rotor weight reduction by approximately 10-15% in most models too.
The CNC Gear technology we mentioned is still an inclusion. The brass system is engineered to the standards of being perfectly functional, profoundly strong and well able to handle the extreme loads exerted when engaging a hefty drag pressure. Stainless bearings support these CNC gears for silky smooth operation and brilliant crank load distribution.
IPX6 Waterproof sealing is still one of the biggest selling features of the Penn Slammer 4 Fishing Reel. This is an independent rating that confirms your Penn will handle spray from the boat from all angles, spray from the beach and rocks and even the occasional full submersion.
The Sealed Penn Slammer IV drag system with Dura-Drag is an enormous feature. It’s what they have in the game models and it allows for incredible pressures like you wouldn’t believe!
